P4 - P7 had the first of our PDMU Assemblies (Personal Development and Mutual Understanding) and told us of how we can learn from our mistakes. They shared their own experiences and we listened to a song highlighting the theme. Thank you P7 Room 11!
Christmas Carol Service
On Monday evening HPS held their P6 and P7 Carol Service at St Philip and St James Church. The music filled the church and helped create a lovely atmosphere and meaningful service. Everyone was treated to a very special evening which included P6 & P7 singers, readers, choir members and musicians retelling the Christmas Story.
Thank you again to the guests, Governors, friends and families of HPS who supported our children at the Carol Service.
Well done everyone!
Bedtime Stories at HPS
Yesterday evening, HPS hosted it’s first bedtime stories, pre school children were invited to come along to listen to a few stories from our P1 & 2 teachers in our very own Elves Workshop.
The children and parents were then invited to the hall to hear the choir sing, enjoy some drinks and treats and meet other parents and carers.
Holywood Primary School is hosting an open day on Thursday 9th January at 1:30-3:30. parents / carers and children are welcome to view the school inside and out, also going into classrooms where prospective children can enjoy doing a range of activities too
Thank you again for everyone who came along and to all our P7 helpers and School Choir.
Christmas Door Competition
This year Key Stage 2 had a Christmas door competition. The pupils and the staff had great fun getting into the Christmas spirit by creating a festive door. Mr Chism was the impartial judge. After much deliberation, he chose Room 12 as the winner. Their Grinch themed door narrowly took first place, where the only prize is the pride of winning!
Well done to all the pupils - the doors look brilliant!
HPS House Mascot Winner
A massive congratulations to Ella in P7 from the Yellow House whose mascot ‘Miso the Meerkat’ was selected as the HPS School Mascot for the 2024/25 school year. Ella represented all the school Houses in her brilliant design alongside a range of sports. Well done to all the P5-P7 pupils who got involved! We look forward to many more fun House competitions in the school year ahead! :)
Fun Run at Londonderry Park
Lots of pupils from HPS enjoyed the Cross Country at Londonderry Park yesterday. It was a great opportunity to meet and race pupils from other schools. A huge thank you to all the parents who transported the children and well done to all our runners!
Thank you Mrs Crookshanks!
The Board of Governors, staff and pupils wish a happy (early) retirement to our Principal Mrs Crookshanks. She has been a huge part of Holywood Primary School for 34 years and her hard work, commitment and support has created a fantastic place to work and learn!
Thank you Mrs Crookshanks for everything. We will miss you.
