Thank you Mrs Crookshanks!

The Board of Governors, staff and pupils wish a happy (early) retirement to our Principal Mrs Crookshanks. She has been a huge part of Holywood Primary School for 34 years and her hard work, commitment and support has created a fantastic place to work and learn!

Thank you Mrs Crookshanks for everything. We will miss you.

Slip into Slippers

Thank you to everyone who slipped into their slippers today and raised money for AGE NI. We were pleased to raise over £370! We had a fun day of activities and it was lovely to hear of the special conversations our pupils had had with someone older in their life. Thanks to everyone who got involved.

Waste Free Wednesday Winners!

Well done to Room 5 and Room 19 who are joint winners of our Waste Free Wednesday Competition, the pupils of the winning classes received a packet of wildflower seeds each as their prize. Thank you to everyone from P1-7 for working hard to cut down their single use wrappers. Let’s keep working together to swap single use items for reusable containers.

Green Flag Success

We are thrilled to have confirmation that we have been successful in being awarded our eighth Eco-Schools Green Flag! The Eco-School’s team were very impressed with the hard work of the Eco Committee and wider school community. A big thank you to all the parents and relatives who have volunteered to help with gardening and the local community groups who have partnered with us including Men’s Shed, the Ulster Conservation Volunteers and Ards and North Down Council. Let’s keep working together for the environment.

H.P.S Rugby at the Kingspan Stadium

The H.P.S Rugby Squad travelled to Ravenhill today to play in the Ulster Rugby Primary School Festival. They played some fantastic rugby over 3 games and scored some great tries.

They then got the opportunity to get a tour around the changing rooms and, thanks to Rudy’s dad, they even got to visit the gym.

Many thanks again to all the parent volunteers for helping with transport and for cheering us on throughout the year.

It is a been a pleasure coaching this group of players throughout the year and I hope they all continue to play rugby at their new schools.

Final Football League Fixtures

Yesterday the HPS Football Team competed in their final league fixtures! The team have had some amazing results this season and went 9 games unbeaten! The football at times was a joy to watch and they left everything on the field!

Although the league campaign didn’t end how we would have hoped the team should be immensely proud of their achievements and efforts this season!

Hampered with injuries the team succumbed to defeats to league winners Ballymagee, league runners up Kilmaine and St Comgall’s in what were all very tightly contested matches.

A huge well done to all the footballers in what has been another fun filled season of football!

PLAYER OF THE DAY was awarded to Tate for his dominant performances in the midfield and 3 brilliant solo goals!

TEAM: James R, Fraser, James C, Luke, Peter, Cade, Tate and Rudy.
