John Barratt Tournament
Holywood Primary were handed a tough group with Towerview who have also qualified for the next round of League games and Sullivan’s B team, we would also play Bloomfield Primary School in a rearranged league fixture.
Our first fixture and toughest within the group was against Towerview. It was a tight game with little goal mouth action but a battling performance and neat finish by Carter Wheelhouse secured a 1-0 victory and an important 3 points.
With no rest and a quick turnaround we were straight into action again against Sullivan Bs. The 10-0 victory in the game probably flattered our side slightly as Sullivan did create some chances which were cleverly dealt with by our goalkeeper Jake Thompson. An impressive hat-trick by Oliver Keown and a goal from Harry McK were the highlights in a result that would see us progress to the semi-final.
After a quick rest and water break we were on again to play a league fixture against Bloomfield Primary School. In a game that started at a fast pace we scored two early goals through Jamie Doggart and Carter Wheelhouse to give us a commanding lead. In the second half we added two more through Ryan Mealy and another from Jamie to secure a 4-0 victory which would see us into the next round of the league programme.
After watching the first semi-final it was then our turn to take the field against Bangor Central. Bangor managed to score an early goal and not long after we had one disallowed which may have changed the balance of the game but a late goal from Bangor ensured that they would move into the final to face Kilmaine.
We had one final game which was a playoff to determine 3rd place. We faced Millisle Primary School and after a long day we managed to dig deep to provide a 1-0 victory with a goal from Jamie Doggart that would see us finishing 3rd in the John Barratt football tournament 2017 after a fantastic day and performance from everyone involved.

Playtime fun & friendships
The boys and girls love break and lunchtime playtime. Skipping, football, hopscotch, drawing, reading, lots of running races to name just a few of the games played. Pokemon cards are all the craze this term too! Members of staff on duty have also noticed how helpful the P6 Buddies have been. The boys and girls who play well and classes who also try really hard to line up each day earn tokens giving them a chance of winning extra playtime for their class. Well done boys and girls. Keep it up!
We all got soaked at the Summer Fair!
To finish off the great evening at the School Fair, the fabulous weather was perfect for the traditional soaking by the Holywood firemen!
P4-P7 Healthy eaters
Many of our P4- P7 boys and girls are great at bringing in healthy breaks each day. Well done to these pupils. A special mention to P7, Mrs Clarke's class, who with the help of Mrs Forster ( also affectionately known by the boys and girls as the Healthy Break police officer!) have been working really hard this year to bring healthy breaks every day.

The P7 Year Group had a great morning at IKEA, Belfast. As part of the Young Enterprise Programme, the boys and girls have completed a series of activities in school. The Business Beginnings programme gave an insight into how business works in the real world. Nigel McGarry from IKEA supported this project.
The children worked in groups to present their business plans to Nigel before visiting IKEA. They even had time to have their lunch courtesy of IKEA.
